The last 4 weeks I have been teaching through Romans 6, 7, and 8. We tackled Romans 6 and 7 in one week each. I know what you are thinking… and yes those chapters were A LOT to cover in one week each. They are powerful chapters with life changing implications for the believer. We are spending more time in Romans 8, this week will be our third week in it as we look at Romans 8:17-30. Romans 8 is one of the beautiful passages of Scripture in the entire Bible. It is RICH! This week we are going to explore the concept of salvation “now and later.” The Bible speaks of salvation in 3 tenses. Justification (I am saved), sanctification (I am being saved), and glorification (I will be saved). For those of us who know Christ we are justified and are being sanctified, but we have not yet been glorified. These verses in Romans 8 discuss the longing each believer has for glorification and how God works in our life to bring about His ultimate goal for us … glorification. We will see this week that yes “…for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” We will also see that God’s purpose is to be “conformed to the image of his Son.” So NOW we experience suffering at many times in this life, but LATER we will experience glory. According to God’s Word it will be more than worth it (Rom. 8:18).
If you are a student in the Gadsden area I hope you will join us this week as we continue to study what it means to live with no condemnation.
